Walk the Walk
is the UK’s largest grant-making breast cancer charity that is dedicated to not only raising money and awareness for vital breast cancercauses, but to also encourage women and men to become more aware of their own potential for fitness and wellbeing. We organise the famous MoonWalk overnight power walking challenges and are immensely proud to have raised over £126m, which has been granted to research into breast cancer and to improve the lives of people living with cancer now. We recruit thousands of volunteers to make The MoonWalk a safe and enjoyable event; looking after our walkers at busy crossings, keeping them hydrated and above all giving the encouragement they need to complete their epic challenge. Are you interested in helping at next year's event taking place on Sunday 11th May 2019? You simply need a positive and hard-working attitude for helping a great cause! In return you will meet some amazing people, raise millions of pounds for breastcancer and have the most incredible time at one of London’s most iconic events! It really is an opportunity to experience something truly unique, fun & challenging where you can donate your skills in a very practical way! A briefing pack and handbook are provided to all successful applicants.

Sport in Mind
is a small Berkshire charity that provides sport and physical activity sessions for local adults (18+) experiencing mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, etc) in order to improve their health and wellbeing. They are looking for a volunteer to help with a Badminton group and a table tennis group that meets in Woodley every Friday from 12pm-1pm. Volunteers will need to have some experience of the sports, but do not need to be experts! Patience and good communication skills are essential.

Walking for Health is run by part of Wokingham Borough Council and they run a variety of projects that serves clients who wish
to become more physically active after diagnoses of a long term medical condition, subjected to a fall or cardiac condition. The department also aims to help active adults participate in SHINE, an over 60’s physical activity programme as well as the Walking for Health programme, a National walking programme. They need volunteers to support walk leaders with the Walking for Health walks. This will involve; supporting instructors during physical activity classes where support would be invaluable and well received by instructors and participants alike. They will need people skills, empathy, a caring nature, supportive, friendly and be a reasonably active person. These run Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons.

Wokingham Borough Council run sessions across the Borough to promote and enhance mental wellbeing using physical activity and sport as a tool. They are looking for various volunteers to help with different sessions at different times throughout the week (not weekends.) If you have some experience at playing or coaching sports, that would be beneficial but not essential. Volunteers just need to be willing to help others and have an interest in sports and wellbeing.
