Shinfield Rangers FC are a long established and respected youth football club that focuses on child development rather than football itself. They are one of the few top tier kite marked FA Charter Standard Community Clubs in Berks, meaning we invest heavily in coach development to benefit the girls and boys.  In 2018/19 they plan to start football sessions for the disabled and in 2017/18 Walking Football for the over-50's, and expand beyond our new single adult team. The local population is set to double in the next few years so they are growing rapidly and urgently need more volunteers to help. They are particularly in need of a Club Secretary, Club Treasurer and a Coach/Team Manager. No prior football knowledge is needed - appropriate training, support and mentoring to help will be provided. Please contact us for full details of each role.

Sport in Mind is a small Berkshire charity that provides sport and physical activity sessions for local adults (18+) experiencing mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, etc) in order to improve their health and wellbeing. They are looking for a volunteer to help with the table tennis group that meets at St Crispin's Leisure Centre in Wokingham every Friday from 2pm-2.45pm. They also need help with a Badminton session held on Tuesdays from 12pm-1pm at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre in Lower Earley. Volunteers will need to have some experience of the sports, but do not need to be experts! Patience and good communication skills are essential.

Walking for Health is run by part of Wokingham Borough Council and they run a variety of projects that serves clients who wish
to become more physically active after diagnoses of a long term medical condition, subjected to a fall or cardiac condition. The department also aims to help active adults participate in SHINE, an over 60’s physical activity programme as well as the Walking for Health programme, a National walking programme. They need volunteers to support walk leaders with the Walking for Health walks. This will involve; supporting instructors during physical activity classes where support would be invaluable and well received by instructors and participants alike. They will need people skills, empathy, a caring nature, supportive, friendly and be a reasonably active person. These run Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons.

Wokingham Borough Council run sessions across the Borough to promote and enhance mental wellbeing using physical activity and sport as a tool. They are looking for various volunteers to help with different sessions at different times throughout the week (not weekends.) If you have some experience at playing or coaching sports, that would be beneficial but not essential. Volunteers just need to be willing to help others and have an interest in sports and wellbeing. Contact us for more information.
