Basildon Park in Pangbourne is an 18th century mansion surrounded by 400 acres of parkland run by the National Trust. Basildon Park are currently recruiting for new volunteers to help in the house and the in the grounds. They are currently looking to recruit volunteer Room Guides. Volunteer Room Guides share their enthusiasm for the property with our visitors help them to enjoy and learn more about Basildon Park. They also play a key role in making visits inspiring and engaging experiences. Volunteer Room Guides also help to protect the health and safety of visitors, and play a part in safeguarding the property and its collection. They are passionate about sharing their love of Basildon Park and the National Trust’s role in caring for it with our visitors. The commitment for this role is a minimum of one session per fortnight, or more if you can. Basildon park are also currently looking for Baking Assistants and Tea Room Assistants as well. The Baking Assistant role is to make a selection of sweet treats for our visitors to Basildon Park. Commitment is up to three mornings a week 10am-1pm. The Tearoom Assistant role is help make the tearooms a clean, warm and inviting place for the visitors to enjoy. Commitments is afternoons from 12pm-3pm. Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed. 

Wokingham Town Council is the parish council for Wokingham Town (Wescott, Evendons, Emmbrook and Norreys ward) and serves its residents and users. They are looking for a Virtual Museum Volunteer. This role will involve updating and proof reading the Virtual Museum website www.wokingham-tc.gov.uk/museum, adding new items with direction and identifying potential new items to be added. The volunteer should have an interest in local history, basic computer skills and good standard of written English and confidence in working with new programs on the computer. Commitment is for one afternoon or morning a week at a mutually convenient time.
