Mapis provides training, mentoring and qualifications to Women at risk and disadvantaged Young People to raise employability. They work with Unemployed/NEET, Ethnic minorities, Mental health issues, depression, Low self-esteem, eating disorders, self-harming and domestic abuse. They are looking for a volunteer Fundraising Officer to help develop new creative community fundraising strategies and plan and deliver fundraising events. Experience of the charitable sector and fundraising is essential. 

Home-Start supports young families with at least one child under five years of age who are going through difficulties. Trained volunteers visit weekly to provide emotional support and practical help. They are looking for a Funding Trustee to oversee our funding strategy. They have a fundraiser and have a Scheme Manager who deal with day to day activity but need a trustee to oversee this and ensure that the strategy is implemented and help with any issues.  Also to report to the Trustee Board on the progress of the funding strategy and to help formulate any changes.  Volunteer would need to be elected as a trustee, attend a Board meeting, usually on a Tuesday evening, every two months and to meet with the Scheme Manager, during the day as
necessary or by phone/email. 

NCT is the UK's largest parenting charity, supporting new parents and parents-to-be through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. The Wokingham branch is very active and well established, with regular social groups, nearly new sales, and support for new parents. They
are looking for a new volunteer fundraiser, who can help with applying for grants and funding from local and national bodies, either as a one off for a current project, or on an ongoing basis. The volunteer needs to be literate and willing to complete quite complex forms to apply for funding. Some experience of this would be an advantage, but a willingness to get stuck in is more desirable. Support is available from the branch committee. Time commitment is any day, any time, home based and completely flexible.

The Me2Club is a Wokingham Borough based charity that supports children and young people with additional needs into mainstream activities. They are looking for a volunteer as a Trust/Grants Researcher. This is a research based role aimed to identify potential trusts, grants and local fundraising opportunities. The volunteer will be able to work independently and be computer literate. Hours are flexible and the volunteer can volunteer from home.

is the national charity working exclusively on behalf of children and young people with epilepsy. With over 100 years of experience we are a leading provider of specialist health and education services. The charity offers support, information, training for health, social care and education professionals and campaigns to improve access to, and quality of, health and education services. The charity is looking to recruit a Fundraising Group Leader to cover the Wokingham area. Event management experience is not essential but some management skills are desirable, but most importantly you will need to have buckets full of enthusiasm and motivation!

Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue assists the police searching for vulnerable missing persons in the Thames Valley area. They also are a local authority category 1 civil emergency responder assisting during civil emergencies such as the recent floods. They are looking for volunteers to assist members with fund-raising duties. This will include; Assisting with fund-raising activities at events and venues, such as bucket collections or operating stalls at events for the sale of merchandise, assisting with the organisation, promotion and running of sponsored events, giving presentations to interested groups including youth clubs and schools if confident to do so, assisting with counting collected money including preparation of paperwork for claiming gift aid, promoting the activities and services of BLSAR to members of the public at fund-raising and PR events, working with members and friends to maximise fund-raising opportunities including raising ideas and sharing knowledge and attending fund-raising meetings held periodically at their HQ in Wokingham. 

ABC to Read recruits and trains local volunteers to read to primary school children in schools across the Borough. They are looking for two volunteers to support the work the charity does. They are looking for a Funding Assistant to research possible funding streams and complete and submit grant applications whenever necessary. 

The Wokingham CAB gives free, confidential advice on every subject from debt, benefits, housing and employment, to law, immigration and discrimination. It is independent and gives advice in an unbiased way.  They are looking to recruit a Volunteer Fundraiser, which could be 6 hours per week or for a one-off project. The volunteer will be required to try and help the bureau obtain resources for their service which could include money, help in kind and/or equipment. Berkshire County Blind Society supports over 200 visually impaired people across Berkshire with services including: Home visitors, Social Clubs, Sports Groups, Trips out, Craft classes etc. They are looking for a volunteer Fundraiser/Collector. Volunteers are needed to support the charity's street collections and fundraising activities. Most of the collections take place in shopping centres and at supermarkets in Berkshire. Each year the collections raise around £8,000 and are a valuable income for the charity but more volunteers are needed to help with the collections, and with transporting the existing volunteers (a number of whom are visually impaired), to the various (local) collection locations. Volunteers will be part of a local team including visually impaired people and will be asked to volunteer at collections of their choice, scheduled throughout the year
